School Days
Please note that this listing is for a PDF knitting pattern and not the actual garment. From Oxford and Cambridge to Hogwarts, the school scarf has always taken on a fairly standard description: long, rectangular and striped. When my oldest daughter started junior high at a school with a uniform and school colors, a school scarf was just too obvious a knit to pass up. Eschewing the standard rectangle of thick stripes, I decided for something just way cooler. School Days is super fun and easy to knit with lots of easy garter stitch and short row shaping, and it produces a scarf which keeps the wearer warm without extra bulk. And it knits up in one weekend making it a perfect gift knit! For this quick TV or travel knit, you could also use team colors, scraps, or whatever two colors you like together! This is a crescent-ish shaped shawl that is primarily shaped with short rows and made up of both skinny and fat stripes. No purling needed! Width: 60” / 152.5 cm Greatest Depth: 11.5” / 29
