It is used for butchering game, building shelter, skinning, and chopping wood. These are large, serious knives designed for serious wilderness chores. The blade is lightly inscribed with the Iisakki Järvenpää signature. When you hold this knife in your hand, you can feel the solid construction and high quality. The handle is made from curly birch wood, sanded and polished to a smooth finish, and has a flared pommel to prevent the knife from slipping out of your hand.
