Māmaki  The distinct green and red of the endemic plant Māmaki (Pipturus albidus) is as vibrant as it is accommodating.  Māmaki is a host plant to the threatened endemic butterfly, Pulelehua Kamehameha.  The Pulelehua are on the decline possibly due to introduced predators and habitat loss.  But what if we all grew at least one Māmaki?  We could be part of the solution to increase the chances of thriving Pulelehua.
