To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Kobold is making its commemorative timepiece available at an earth-shatteringly low introductory price. The all-new Kobold Richard E. Byrd II timepiece features an iconic case designed by the late master watchmaker Gerd-Ruediger Lang. The case was invented in 1983 and consists of 19 individual components, including screw-locked lug bars and an iconic onion crown. As one of the four Kobold founding fathers, Gerd-R. Lang was a true genius and the inventor of iconic watch case of which Kobold today possesses all of the original tooling, dies and technical drawings. The Kobold Richard E. Byrd II is housed in a 40mm-version of Lang's case, which features a sapphire crystal in the front, as well as a sapphire crystal exhibition casebakc through which the Swiss-made ETA 2824 automatic-winding movement can be viewed.
