Even more rare, this Hokumei (lit. "north tea") cultivar was specially developed by the Saitama Tea Research Institute in 1992. Painstakingly cultivated on a single plantation in Tokorozawa City, Saitama, this special Sayama green tea has a refreshing aroma and beautifully balanced notes of umami, sweetness, astringency, and bitterness.
