Born in Boston, Wood received a BA in psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and an MFA from the University of Washington. He is most well known for his paintings and drawings of portraits, interiors, and still lifes, using distorted shapes and bright colors in compositions that embrace both figuration and abstraction.
