In a PR stunt gone wrong, Chex put on a vote between a chocolate Chex character and an evil spring onion Chex character to introduce a new cereal 16 years ago. Green onion wasn't supposed to win, but it did. Chex moved forward with the new chocolate version, but the people have been clamoring for the green onion flavor all this time.
