Following the dramas Eighteen and Sleepless Night, which were both well-received on the film festival circuit, indie director Jang Kun Jae's latest A Midsummer's Fantasia is commissioned by the Nara International Film Festival and co-produced by award-winning Japanese filmmaker Kawase Naomi. Shot in black and white, the first part of the film takes on a documentary-style aesthetic as it follows a Korean filmmaker (Lim Hyung Kook, Stateless Things) and his assistant (Kim Sae Byuk, Stateless Things) as they explore the small Japanese town of Gojo with the help of a local civil servant (Iwase Ryo, Yellow Kid) and hear stories from various townsfolk. Shot in color, the second part, inspired by a story heard in the first, depicts the budding relationship between a Korean actress (Kim Sae Byuk) and a Japanese persimmon farmer (Iwase Ryo) as they walk around Gojo. This edition includes commentary, documentary, interviews, deleted scenes, credit cookie, trailer and music video.   Kim Sae B
