This is Ian's first solo album in five years since his second album, Strange Season, released in 2007. Guilt-Free was produced using a computer to create sounds, rather than instruments.[1] He actively utilized glitch techniques to split sounds and reproduce guitar sounds with new playing methods that do not exist in reality, creating delicate sounds that received much acclaim from critics and fans immediately after the album was released. Lee Ian also wanted to let his fans hear the sounds he created in this way, so he released instrumental versions of all the songs on the second CD. In other words, it was a 2-CD release.
