Nevertheless, She Persisted
A statement piece exploring the mythology of the woman and how that impacts the experience of being a woman. Cast in plaster with steel spikes and mounted on an acrylic pedestal, this pair of high heeled shoes epitomizes the experience of the role of women in our society. Caryatids are the decorative support columns in Greek buildings, these women forced to be both beautiful while holding up buildings for eternity. One of a kind fine art sculpture, made of plaster and steel on an acrylic base. Approximately 17 3/4" tall, 10 1/4" wide and 10 1/2" long, 5 lbs.
