Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, 2015

The Producer  Villa Yustina Grape Variety  100% Gewurztraminer Tasting Notes Gewurztraminer, known for its exotic and perfumed aromas, is taken to the next level in this late-harvest style. Ultra-ripe grapes picked late in the season pick up flavors of persimmon, clementines, bruise apple, dates, kabocha squash, and dried orange peel. The palate is distinctly sweet in the style of Sauternes of Tokaji with cinnamon and nutmeg undertones.  The palate has a remarkable mineral and almondy aroma like a fino sherry, but the palate is nothing but pure fruit and honeycomb. The grapes are subjected to the classic technology for sweet wine as the alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vessels.
