Fairuz

This artwork consists of three elements: arabesque, portrait and calligraphy. It’s a tribute to the city of Beirut after the port explosion;. The arabesque stands for the destroyed old houses of our beloved city, the portrait is the face of Fairouz, the Lebanese icon, shining through the darkness of that tragic day, and the calligraphy on the lower right of the painting depicts a part of the lyrics of Fairouz’s song “li Beirut” ( لبيروت من قلبي سلام لبيروت وقبل للبحر والبيوت لصخرة كانها وجه بحار قديم) Production year: 2020.
