Fairuz
As an artist, I create from feeling—where memories, moments, and visual sparks converge into color and form. Art found me later in life, during the stillness of COVID, when the world slowed down and my journey with the brush truly began. Since then, I have discovered beauty in every corner: in nature, in people, even in the smallest, most unexpected details. Vibrant colors, fluid lines, and silence—especially the solitude of night—are the elements that shape my dialogue with the canvas. The artwork I am presenting in this exhibition is a tribute to Fairuz, the eternal voice of Lebanon. I painted her wearing a golden crown, a symbol not only of her legendary stature but also of the emotional weight she continues to carry today. The piece was also born out of the recent loss in her family, which I felt deeply as a mother. To me, it reflects the unbearable grief of a mother burying her child—a sorrow no crown can ever ease.
