The Water Pump Mayim Achronim is in the form of an old fashioned water pump.The design reflects modernistic sensibilities. Its clean lines and realistic shapeform an art piece in motion as the handle is pumped. The base serves as a waterholder, which can be filled by unscrewing the basin from the base. By pumpingthe handle a number of times initially, the water is lifted from the base to theupper chamber. Subsequently, one pump is enough for the water to flow ontoone’s fingertips. The used water is filtered under the dome, which conceals theimpure water, allowing the piece to remain on the table during the reciting of theGrace after Meals.Each work is signed and numbered by the artist and is available in a limitededition.
