Meet Sport, a real-life ship dog from Great Lakes history! Sport was no ordinary pup. After being rescued from the chilly waters of the Milwaukee River, he lived and worked on a lighthouse tender ship called the Hyacinth. Sport quickly became a valued crew member and made friends in every port. He helped his ship's crew while they delivered supplies to lighthouses and made repairs around Lake Michigan. Their efforts helped keep the dangerous lake safe for other ships.
