Extraordinary ENORMOUS Antique Sacred Heart Candleshade Ornament

SOLD   A magnificent example, it is encrusted with an extravagant number of glass stones. It originates from France and was purchased within a large sacred heart collection. It dates circa 1900. We feature the first image with candlelight to demonstrate the exquisite reflected illumination. This sacred heart ornament is large (8" x 6") with a very thick central mounted (1/2" thick) ruby flash beveled glass wafer. The beveled wafer (with engraved Christogram "IHS" surrounded by a crown of thorns) is supported by a gilded brass frame which creates the upper channel for 39 clear glass stones. The gilded brass support attaches to a channel filled with 36 ruby glass stones. Large rays fan outward, each filled by four large clear glass stones. The flame has a pretty curve; it is filled by large to small ruby glass stones and four clear stones at the base.
