RARE Antique French Religious Santos Crown Cherubs

A rare and unique authentic antique, it has four cast winged angels along the top ridge. It originates from the south of France and dates towards 1880. Given the very special casting work of the angels, this crown would have been destined to be given to a particular statue within a Catholic parish (ordered from a religious jeweler). The entire design is delicate and heavily gilded. Cast in a bronze/brass metal mix, the ornamental face is solid and sturdy. The crown has a heavily angled face, so to appear impressive and shimmering when viewed from below. There are two cherubs and two large winged angels. The facial details (nose, eyes, mouth) and hair are visible. At the center a "all seeing eye" is outline with clear glass stones. Large (1/4") stones form an elongated cross at the center.
