Galeras

The volcanic ash in the soil is rich in nutrients and contributes to a much healthier plant and a higher complexity in the cup. Galeras is also great as an Espresso! Origin: Nariño Varietal: Caturra and Castillo Process: Washed Soil characteristics: Volcanic Ash  Altitude: 1,600 - 2,100 MASL Farmers:  Smallholders in rural areas surrounding the Galeras Volcano in Nariño. With one of the highest elevations for Colombian coffee production, temperatures are cooler, thus allowing for more gradual cherry maturation and an accumulation of sugars.
