It is a highly interactive process — a “trialogue” between the subject, herself and the work.She frequently scrapes down entire paintings repeatedly, not to obliterate what lies beneath, but to merge visual threads and ideas, reconstructing a different kind of organization. This cycle of creation and destruction disrupts tendencies. It forces an unexpectedness, deepening the sophistication and complexity of both image and narrative.Within the chaos and turbulence of Lenssen’s process lies an ordered transmutation of time, discovery and interpretation of content.Painting is her life and her passion — through paint she experiences her world.
