Ultra-Turrax® T 25
Overview High-performance dispersing instrument for volumes from 1 – 2000 ml (H2O) with digital speed display. It offers a wide speed range from 3000 – 25,000 rpm that enables users to work at high circumferential speeds even with small rotor diameters. A broad choice of dispersing elements adds versatility. Applications ranges from homogenizing waste water samples, use in laboratory reactors, dispersion tasks under vacuum / pressure and sample preparation in medical diagnostics. Digital speed display Electronic speed control Electronic overload protection Stainless steel dispersing elements can be cleaned quickly and easily Plastic disposable dispersing elements are available in two sizes Error code display Quiet operation Dispersing elements, which are required for use, are sold separately. The motor is rated for 100% on time, but where you'll run into issues is the teflon bearing inside the dispersing element. That will eventually overheat, depending on the speed used and both the substances and volumes being homogenized. That said, most substances will achieve their minimum achievable particle size in a matter of seconds or minutes so it shouldn't be a problem. If you're running the Ultra-Turrax for longer than that, you're probably either running it for longer than necessary or using the incorrect instrument for the application. If you want something which can be used continuously for an in-line process, this is not the correct instrument; this is for batch processes only. If want to ensure that an already homogenized substance stays mixed after homogenization, you should homogenize with the Ultra-Turrax first then utilize an overhead stirrer to prevent sedimentation or separation. Can I use the Ultra-Turrax® T 25 with organic solvents? Yes. When using the standard steel probes, the materials in contact with the medium would be stainless steel and PTFE, both of which have excellent chemical compatibility with most solvents. If you have questions about any particular probe / solvent combination, please contact us at support@homogenizers.net. Is the motor in the Ultra-Turrax® T 25 brushed or brushless? The T 25 has a brushed motor. If you would like a brushless motor, the IKA T 25 Easy Clean has a brushless motor and similar specifications.
