Kanas is an award-winning artist based in Los Angeles.. She is well known for her vibrant use of color in her landscape, abstract, portrait, and figure paintings. Many pieces of her artwork have been on exhibit in New York City, Los Angeles,  San Jose, and Huntington Beach. Her objective is to capture the beauty and essence of a moment in time that stems from a memory or an idea she has that she wants to explore on canvas. Karen paints quite deliberately, engaging both traditional and innovative techniques. Her work is very expressive with movement, emotion, and tone, creating a custom palette for each painting with one dominant color that typically takes precedence throughout the piece. Karen’s artistic journey began in Chicago, where she was raised, and involved in the arts from a very young age.
