
Class: Sew Two Zipper Pouches with Evan! Saturday March 8, 9AM-12PM
In this class, you’ll make two versatile zipper pouches—one classic flat pouch and one gusseted pouch—perfect for organizing essentials, traveling, or gifting. This beginner-friendly project will guide you through key bag-making techniques to create polished, professional-looking pouches. What You'll Learn: How to install a zipper Using bias binding to finish zipper ends cleanly Constructing a flat pouch and a gusseted pouch Professional finishing techniques for a polished look This class is great for confident beginners who know how to thread their machine, sew straight lines, and back-tack. If you’re new to bag-making or want to expand your skills, this is a perfect next step! Important: If you’re brand new to sewing (haven't driven or threaded your machine before), we recommend taking one of our beginner classes first, like “Meet Your Machine” or “Reversible Napkins.” What's Included: Fabric, thread, and nylon coil zippers for both pouches Step-by-step instructions to recreate the pouches at home The cost of this class is $100. The cost of instruction is $75 and the materials fee (required) is $25 and includes the patterns, fabric, thread, and zippers. What to Bring: Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.). Bringing your own machine is encouraged, but studio machines are available—please reach out to info@lakemakerie.com to reserve one after you register for class. Machines are limited. A Zipper Foot! This is the most important thing to remember to bring along. It will be crucial to the sewing process! Optional: Any sewing tools you love using! The class requires a minimum of 4 students (if we're not able to run this class, you will be refunded). If you need to cancel within one week of the class, you will receive store credit.
