Wooden Spurtle Set
How our wooden spurtles are made Our wooden spurtles are handmade at our shop in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Each spurtle is carved and hand sanded to a smooth finish. Utilizing local local resources is a priority for us. This allows us to be both friendly to the environment and supportive of local industry. We use hardwoods sourced from the Eastern United States. Spurtles were originally designed in the Highlands of Scotland in the 1400s. They are still popular today and were originally created for stirring porridge. Our take on the original design has lead to an elongated kitchen tool that can still be used for making oatmeal but also serves many other uses in the 21st-century kitchen. The Lancaster Cast Iron spurtle set comes as your choice of two or three spurtles. The set of two includes one large spurtle as well as a slotted spurtle. The 3 set features an additional mini spurtle. Handmade in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, our spurtles are designed to be ergonomic in your hand and easy to
