Our queens are a genetic mix of our overwintered stock, our VSH Instrumentally-inseminated queen, and known Nebraska overwintered feral colonies. We have several mating yards located around long time feral survivor colonies.   We flood the area with drones from the previous years' overwintered stock and raise daughters from our chosen overwintered breeders and our VSH Carniolan breeder queen. We feel that this gives a good mix of diversity and specific characteristics that we want.
