Introducing Guatemala La Morena Huehuetenango Originating from the lush, volcanic highlands of Huehuetenango, this exceptional coffee is part of the La Morena program, an initiative launched in 2016 by Genuine Origin to support female coffee growers and address gender inequality in the coffee industry. The La Morena program started with just four members of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA), producing a micro-lot of 32 boxes of green coffee beans. Fast forward to 2023, and the program has expanded to include over 800 women farmers from Huehuetenango and Baja Verapaz, collectively producing thousands of pounds of highly sought-after specialty coffee.
