1912 watercolor painting by famous artist Worden Wood of the United States Navy Ship of the line Ohio. The 74 Gun Frigate although she carried as many as 104 guns was launched in 1820 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. In 1838 she joined the Mediterranean Squadron under Commodore Issac Hull where she fought slavery off the African coast. This piece shows the Ohio coming head on with perhaps the constitution passing off her stern. Both are under full sail with multiple American flags flying.
