This is a very scarce and striking separately issued large French double-hemisphere world map. The map shows the tracks and discoveries of the various explorers listed. An interesting feature depicted in the northern polar region is a land bridge connecting Greenland to Alaska and a large inland sea south of that land bridge. This map is a revised edition published in Paris in 1831 by Basset.Translated:"The World Map or the Terrestrial Globe Represented in two Hemispheres, one Eastern, the other Western, where the most recent discoveries made by Mackenzie, Vancouver, La Pérouse, Bruce, Renell, & Humboldt are marked.
