U.S. Sloop Dale at San Jose, Extreme Point of Lower California

This is a beautiful sketch done by a naval gunner during the war for California with Mexico. These are reproductions produced in a limited quantity for the 1939 printing of the book; "Naval Sketches of The War in California". This particular sketch shows the Sloop-of-War Dale at San Jose (Cabo Del San Jose, Baja Mexico) on 18 November 1846.
