Ponytail Palm
Beaucarnea recurvata This palm is native to the deserts of Southeastern Mexico & Central America, and thrives best in bright indirect light -- though it'll also tolerate medium and low light, and can be acclimated to withstand direct sun, which makes it very versatile! This desert palm has a thick trunk that stores water for a long time, so you can let the soil dry out completely in between waterings to avoid root rot. Watering once every 2 weeks is fine for a ponytail palm in a 4" or 6" pot, but watering once a week or so is recommended for small palms in a 2". You can extend the watering schedule by a week for all sizes in the winter, when the plant goes dormant. This plant is completely safe for pets! __ If you’re worried about getting your water schedule right, we recommend using a Moisture Meter! These handy tools will help you gauge if your plant needs water or not, without the mess of sticking your hands in the soil to check. If a plant is out of stock, we apologize –
