Original Monarch Butterfly Acrylic Painting on Granville New York Slate

This is a beautiful rendition of a monarch butterfly painted on natural Granville, New York slate. I fell in love with slate when I lived in Saratoga Springs, New York. It was in 2010 that I made a trip to Granville and found this gorgeous slate. I collected and smoothed down the rough edges of the slate before I started painting. This piece is 6 x 3.5 inches and weighs less than a pound. I signed and dated it on the front and on the back. The title is also painted on the back.
