Antique French Elm Louis Philippe Style Commode, circa 1900
This antique French Louis Philippe style commode is crafted in elm and features three large lower drawers and one narrow drawer at the top. The hardware is patinated brass, two handles on each drawer and small escutcheons at center. The lower drawer is missing one pull in the photos, but the pull has been recovered and you can see that in the styled image (second image). The drawers are crafted with dovetail construction and are lined with removable paper (shown). While there are locks on these drawers, no key is present. Simple scroll decoration at the front of each foot, but otherwise this piece is quite simple in form. There are some splits in the top (shown) as well as some wear and discoloration throughout. Measures: 48.75" W x 22" D x 39.5" H. The finish is quite glossy and in comparison to the back of the piece (shown), quite warm. The finish could likely be removed and updated if desired, as it does not appear to be original to the piece. Condition notes: Wear consistent with
