A stunning and very lifelike hand-carved linden wood Fallow deer with Italian polychrome painting technique with antique Habsburg antlers from the Eckartsau Castle of Emperor Franz Josef in the Southern Austrian Alps, a favorite hunting Schloss of the Habsburg family. This is considered a one of a kind piece and is the last one available. Includes original wappen and veteran's medal on an original gorget. Measures 39 inches in total height with a plaque that is 19 inches wide and 20 inches high. The carved head is 14 inches deep.
