#18798- 56-inch-long Antique French Filigree Sterling Chain

Circa 1890s, Sterling, French.  This 56-inch-long sterling silver necklace is a charming example of handmade nineteenth-century French jewelry. The detailed filigree elements have a town and country look that is deliciously unique and stylishly au courant. Highly versatile, it can be worn long, wrapped, or layered with pearls and/or other chains. Very good condition, with minor wear commensurate with age. The copper and gold plating on the small sterling balls on the central elements are worn, giving them a subtly ragged organic look. We find this patination very charming.  Good condition.
