Circa 1751-1752, Sterling, William Peaston, London, England. This stunning example of Georgian silver features a fine later (1800-1840) engraving and a scalloped rim with shell accents. Impeccably detailed, the floral motif centers on an armorial inscribed “DROIT ET LOYAL”, translated as “just and loyal” in Latin. Made by William Peaston in 1751. At 6 3/4 inches in diameter, it is perfect for serving as a champagne or wine coaster, or for displaying a collection of small items.
