Small Chalet Bee Bowl

Modern minimalism at its finest, the chalet design is notable for its large cutout circles that ring the bowl. The sculptural simplicity of the concentric circles allow light to travel through the walls creating an interesting play of shadow and light around the exterior of the piece. This bowl is hand thrown with low-fire earthenware. After curing for several days, its form is smoothed and prepped for the carving process. Each perforation is tooled, carved, and cleaned several times in order to create a finished surface. After a bisque firing, it is glazed three or four times and fired a final time.
