Harry's Crete Fig Tree

Harry's Crete is a relatively-rare fig variety that originated on the Greek island of Creek, and is believed to have been brought to the US at some point by an immigrant. These medium green figs are an absolute delight with a strong berry flavor and light seed crunch in every bite. As they ripen the exterior of these figs may become blemished a bit, but it doesn't compromise the delicious flavor inside. The intense berry flavors are accompanied by a hint of lemon acidity. The interior texture is also very syrupy, making it an excellent fig for jams and preserves.
