Salem White Fig Tree

Salem White is a honey fig variety that offers more complex flavors than the average honey fig. Also known as 'Salem Honey,' this wonderful fig variety produces medium-sized figs with a yellow skin and light red pulp. These figs almost never make it in the house, as they're very delicious when eaten right off the tree. But if they do make it inside, they are great for making the best honey fig jelly! Salem White was brought to the US by Bass Samaan who named the variety after his Uncle Salem. Bass brought this variety in addition to many others from Lebanon to Pennsylvania when he moved to the US. Salem White reportedly grows well in the northeast and is cold-hardy once established.
