R. C. Sherriff (Playwright and Screenwriter for James Whale Films and Other Classics) Autograph

Subject:  R(obert) C(edric) Sherriff Size:  Slightly over 3x4 Description:  Scarce card inscribed, signed, and dated by the British playwright, novelist, and screenwriter (1896-1975).  Sherriff is best known for the play Journey's End (1929), based on his experiences as a World War I soldier.  Its great success led to an outstanding career in film, with his superb scripts for a number of classics including James Whale's The Invisible Man (1933), Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939), Odd Man Out (1945), and The Dam Busters (1955).  (Vintage item from 1945) Condition:  Very Fine Minus with light wear and minor age-toning
