Description: This utensil is a favorite for sautéing. It is able to keep your veggies and meat moving, and the leading edge is sharp enough to cut peppers, onions, meat, and other ingredients. How it's made:This spoon is made from wood that was purchased from a local father-son sawmill and kiln operation. I cut each individual utensil to its rough shape on the bandsaw and then shape it on a belt sander before hand sanding and finishing with organic distilled coconut oil. No step in the process is automated. Care:All Leaning Locust wood utensils should be hand-washed. If you’d like to restore the original tones, you may occasionally treat it with mineral oil, butcher block oil, fractionated (distilled) coconut oil, or any other food-safe wood finish. The larger the utensil, the more important it is to oil the utensil periodically. Larger utensils experience greater expansion and contraction during the washing and drying process.
