This elegant shiboridashi is a first for Leaves of Cha and a great example of Mark Foster's tea aesthetic. A great alternative for a gaiwan, it is traditionally used for Japanese teas like gyokuro but can be used for many other teas as well. The main difference being that the opening (gap between the lid and spout) is fixed instead of being variable with a gaiwan. This makes for simpler use and sometimes safer fingers! A beautiful piece to add to you teaware.
