I build a palette with the colors that are infused into my everyday life and let instinct guide the movement of the stroke. I develop the formal qualities of each painting in tandem with an aspiration to create space for an appreciation of the simple and beautiful. For me, abstraction recalls the feeling of a place, object or experience with more accuracy than an effort to capture reality in two dimensions.
