In this class, you have the choice to build on your traditional embroidery skills or learn Brazilian embroidery. In Brazilian embroidery (also known as Dimensional Embroidery) you will use rayon thread instead of cotton. Rayon thread is shinier, slipperier, and does not tangle as easily. It can be pulled through wrapped stitches without difficulty, which allows your embroidery to take on more dimension. Those practicing traditional embroidery will learn these stitches: Bullion stitch Colonial knot Fern stitch Feather stitch Combining basic stitches Those practicing Brazilian embroidery will be using some or all of these stitches and incorporating them into your design: Stem stitch Pistil stitch Chain stitch Colonial knot Long-short stitch Leaf stitch Bullion stitch A
