This stunning replica of U.S. President Grover Cleveland's badge, originally crafted by the JF Newman Company (later acquired by the L.G. Balfour Company) in 1893, was first presented to Grover Cleveland by the Washington DC Alumni Chapter. The full, fascinating story of President Cleveland's honorary initiation by Sigma Chi's Theta Theta Chapter at the University of Michigan is featured on the Sigma Chi website. His initiation took place at his NYC law office on January 26, 1893.  Grover Cleveland was our only President to leave the White House and return for a 2nd term four years later, having served as our 22nd President (1885-1889) and 24th President (1893-1897).
