The Lamp Post at Venice overpass
$3,000.00
Archival Pigment Print 24 X 20 Inches (60.9 X 50.8 CM) 2009 Edition of 25 Signed & Numbered by Artist This pre-WW II lamp post illuminates a historic arch bridge built in 1933 that crosses over Venice Boulevard in an area known as Arlington Heights. At one time, a popular Sears department store was located very nearby on Pico Boulevard. It is gone now. In a recent appraisal, the National Highway Survey described the bridge – a uniquely cinema noir Los Angeles setting – as functionally obsolete. Nat King Cole broke the color barrier in the 1950s, buying a home a few blocks away in exclusive Hancock Park.
