What Is MiniDV? Do you have memories of old home videos from the late 1990s to the early 2000s? If so, you most likely have MiniDV cassette tapes stored away in a closet or the attic. The DV (Digital Video) format came about in the mid-1990s to replace the larger, bulkier camcorders and VHS tapes used in your VCR.
