They have a jointed neck to allow for the heads to move. The "wings" of the doll close with velcro.  If shopping for a young child, you may want to choose a doll without any hair if they are still in the phase of tasting everything.   The Large dolls measure approximately 14" in height and the Small dolls measure approximately 10" in height.
