Shakespeare ponders his next, great turn-of-phrase. When this cast-spelter sculpture was made (in the Mid-Nineteenth Century), some scholars believed that "Shakspeare" was the most authentic spelling of the Bard's name—the one Will often used himself. He is finished in a bronze verdigris patina and stands atop a black wooden plinth. (18" x 7.5" x 7.5") sc12525e c. 1850
