Tsuboiana

Sasa Tsuboiana is a medium-sized bamboo that provides a beautiful short privacy hedge. It produces lush, thick foliage, growing to just 6 feet tall. Tsuboiana is a knockout ground cover, perhaps a better category would be: Jumbo ground cover. Most plantings stay around four to six feet in height and never need mowing. Many ground covers become unattractive after a hot summer and mowing them to the ground once during the Fall is sometimes preferred. Tsuboiana never needs to be mowed as the thick green foliage never looks bad even during hot and dry summer months. The large dark green leaves are beautiful and hold up very well during the winter months too. This species prefers the shaded sites that get filtered sunlight. It handles several hours of direct light, but partially shaded sites work best.
