Alice' is grown for its large, cone-shaped white flowers which emerge in May, retaining their white color for 6 weeks or more, then slowly fade to a warm khaki color as summer ends. Introduced by Michael Dirr and named for his wife, 'Alice' has extra-clean foliage in warm weather, then turns an extra-nice burgundy fall color. Foliage is deep green in warm weather, turning attractive reddish-bronze in fall before dropping for winter.
