Also known as "Althea", these plants are grown as large shrubs or small trees and are popular for their 3-4" diameter flowers which appear from June into September in our area. 'BLUE CHIFFON' produces gorgeous large, showy, single "anemone-like" BLUE flowers. Rose of Sharon is cold-hardy as far north as Ohio and Michigan. Plants leaf out very late in the Spring - sometimes not until early May in our area.
